Matterport Google Street View Tours for Ocala Businesses

Before most people visit a business, they look it up on Google Maps. They check the hours, read the reviews and scroll the photos. A Matterport 3D tour lets them do one more thing: step inside. I capture commercial spaces on my Matterport Pro2 and help get that imagery in front of the people already searching for you.

Why Google Street View still matters for local search

Google Maps is where a lot of buying decisions start. When someone searches for a restaurant, a salon, a law office or an event venue near them, your Google Business Profile is often the first thing they see. Photos help. A walk-through view of the inside helps more, because it answers the question every new customer has: what is it actually like in there?

Street View imagery of a business interior turns a flat listing into a place people can explore. It shows your space is real, open and cared for, and it gives a searcher one more reason to pick you over the listing with three blurry phone photos.

How a Matterport tour connects to Google Maps

Matterport offers a Google Street View publishing add-on. According to Matterport’s Google Street View FAQ, the option appears in the Add-Ons tab for each space, it is free with any Matterport plan until further notice, and spaces captured on the Pro2 or Pro3 export high-quality 4K images to Google. During publishing, the imagery is matched to your business’s Google Place ID, the same place your Business Profile lives.

Two honest notes. First, Google’s terms do not allow residential homes to be published to Street View, so this service is for commercial spaces only. Second, what shows up on Google is a 360° pano-to-pano walk-through. It doesn’t include Matterport’s dollhouse view or full 3D movement. Those stay on your full tour, which we embed on your website. Publishing tools and Google’s processing can change or hit delays, so I check current availability for every project rather than promise a date.

Turning views into visits

An interior view is only useful if the right people see it. That’s why I treat every tour as part of a bigger local search picture: a complete Business Profile, accurate categories and hours, fresh photos, steady reviews and a website that matches what Google shows. When those pieces line up, your listing looks like the obvious choice, and the tour gives searchers the final nudge to call, book or drive over.

It also helps you stand out against national chains and franchises. A local shop with a real, explorable interior feels more personal than a corporate stock photo. For Ocala businesses competing for “near me” searches, that personal touch is a real advantage. You’ll also have a tour link you can drop into emails, quotes and social posts, so the same capture keeps working long after scan day.

What your business gets

  • An inside look on Google Maps where eligible, tied to your Business Profile.
  • A full Matterport 3D tour with dollhouse and floor plan views, ready to embed on your website, like our own Media Minds office tour.
  • Still photos pulled from the scan for your profile, social posts and ads.
  • A local SEO plan around it, so the tour supports the searches that bring you customers.

Who it’s best for

Street View-style interior tours work well for places where the space itself is part of the sale: restaurants and bars, retail shops, gyms and studios, medical and professional offices, venues, hotels and car dealerships. If people ask “what’s it like inside?” before they visit, this is for you. If you’re a home seller or a short-term rental host, see my pages on real estate listing tours and Airbnb 3D tours instead.

Who shoots your tour

Frequently asked questions

Can you put my business inside Google Street View?

For eligible commercial spaces, Matterport offers a Google Street View publishing add-on that matches the imagery to your Google Business Profile’s Place ID. I confirm current availability for your project, because Google’s processing and third-party tools can change.

Can I publish my house to Google Street View?

No. According to Matterport’s FAQ, Google’s terms of service prohibit publishing residential homes to Street View. For homes, a Matterport tour on your listing and website is the right fit.

Is the Google version the same as the Matterport tour?

No. Google shows a 360° walk-through from point to point. The full Matterport experience, with dollhouse and floor plan views, lives on your website or a shared tour link.

How much does it cost?
