How to Get Your Business Mentioned in AI Answers and Voice Search

To get your business mentioned in AI answers and voice search, answer specific customer questions clearly on your own site, keep your business details consistent across the web, and use structured data so machines can confirm who you are and what you offer. None of it requires new software, just a clear process.

Step 1: Make your business easy to identify

AI tools and voice assistants need to be confident about which business they are describing. Keep your name, address, phone number, hours and categories identical on your website, your Google Business Profile and major directories. Add Organization markup with sameAs links to your official profiles.

Step 2: Build one page per main question

If two pages try to answer the same question, neither is a clear source. Give each important question a home: a service page, a pricing page or an FAQ section. State the question in a heading and answer it in the first sentence.

Step 3: Write answers that work when spoken

Voice assistants read answers aloud, so check each answer by saying it out loud.

  • Keep sentences under about 25 words.
  • Avoid tables, symbols and unexplained acronyms in the core answer.
  • Name your city or service area when location matters.
  • Give honest ranges for price and timing questions.

Step 4: Mark it up and validate it

Use LocalBusiness markup (or a specific subtype such as Plumber or Dentist), FAQPage for visible question-and-answer sections, and VideoObject for video with a transcript on the page. Test each page in Google’s Rich Results Test and the Schema Markup Validator, and fix errors before moving on.

Step 5: Keep your Google Business Profile active

For local questions, your profile is a primary data source. Keep services, hours and photos current and respond to reviews promptly.

Step 6: Track what you win

Filter Search Console for question queries, note which pages hold featured snippets, and schedule a review of each answer every 30 to 60 days. Answers that go stale tend to get replaced.
